Welsh: Llys y Milwr
An impressive summer flowering marsh plant, with 3ft tall spikes (hence the ‘Milwr’ or Soldiers in the Welsh) of brilliant purple flowers. It grows in rich marshy areas, stream and lakesides, and while it tolerates some shade, it will flower best in full sun.
