Collection: Ferns

Ferns are among the oldest groups of plants in cultivation, with ancestors that predate flowering plants by millions of years. Found across almost every part of the world, from damp woodland floors to rocky mountain crevices, their remarkable adaptability has given rise to an extraordinary diversity of forms, textures and habits. Though often associated with shade and moisture, many species are surprisingly tolerant and well suited to a range of garden conditions. Generally robust and long-lived, many ferns establish steadily when planted in suitable conditions, requiring little intervention once settled.
