Shipping policy

Dispatch Timing

As many of our bulbs and plants are seasonal living products, orders are dispatched when the items are ready for safe despatch and at the appropriate point in the season, rather than necessarily immediately after ordering.

This allows us to send bulbs and plants in the best possible condition for successful planting.

If your order contains products with different seasonal dispatch times, items may be sent separately where appropriate.

Delivery Methods

We use Royal Mail 24 hour service for deliveries within the UK.

Packaging

We take care to package all orders appropriately according to the needs of the plants or bulbs being sent.

  • Dry bulbs are packed in paper bags
  • Freshly lifted bulbs are packed in compost to retain moisture and sent in sealed bags
  • Plants are dispatched as bare-root stock unless otherwise stated

On Arrival

As our products are living plants and bulbs, we recommend unpacking your order as soon as it arrives.

Where possible, bulbs and plants should be planted promptly.

If you are unable to plant immediately:

  • Store bulbs in a cool, dry place
  • Bare-root plants should be temporarily heeled in by covering the roots with compost or soil, or potted until planting

Bulbs with a protective outer skin, such as daffodils, crocus, and tulips, can usually be stored safely for a short period.

More delicate bulbs such as bluebells, wood anemones, and snowdrops are best planted promptly, or kept in compost or sand if storage is unavoidable.
