Polemonium caeruleum
Welsh: Ysgol Jcob
For centuries this has been a well-loved cottage garden plant, with its bright blue flowers in June-July. The pinnate foliage up the stems create the Biblical reference in Genesis to Jacobs dream of a ladder to heaven. Found in wild places from West Wales, right across the old world as far as cliffs on the island of Hokkaido in Japan, where we were amazed to come across this familiar plant.
Supplied as Bare-root Plants (sent without pots, with roots carefully prepared for planting)
