Centaurea nigra

Pengaled Smaller than its cousin Centaurea scabiosa this perennial is common in grassland meadows throughout Britain. With purple flowers appearing in late summer into autumn it is loved by insects when in flower and birds when seeding, particularly goldfinches.

Supplied as Bare-root Plants (sent without pots, with roots carefully prepared for planting)
