Persicaria bistorta

A handsome marginal plant with large dock like leaves and sturdy, long lasting pink pokers in May-June.   This is a selected form of the native bistort, which grows wild in damp mountain meadows, as well as hedge banks in our area.  It was once used as a herb to aid conception and child birth, and is still used in Easter Hedger pudding eaten in the Lake District. AGM

Supplied as Bare-root Plants (sent without pots, with roots carefully prepared for planting)
