Despite the ancestor coming from the mountains of the Middle East, H. orientalis cultivars are well adapted to life in our British gardens, enjoying a moist soil and a good cold dormancy. With 12”spikes of soft blue bell like flowers in March attracting the first emerging bees with their fragrance, this Hyacinth persists year after year in our garden.
