Termed a 'reverse bicolour' because it develops a white cup while its petals remain yellow, the opposite of what is usually expected. This interesting and unusual effect, coupled with a sweet spicy fragrance and vigorous habit, makes this a must for the garden.

This 1960’s cross between two Spanish trumpet species is a touch smaller than our wild daffodil at about 12cm. Both trumpet and petals are a pale delicate yellow which then fade to white. The tips of the trumpet are frilled, and the outer petals have streaks of lemon yellow so that she looks like a gipsy queen roaming through the woods.

Emerging well over a century ago, Beryl was one of the very first of the cylamineus hybrids, she takes some beating. Her flowers have gently reflexed curling silky yellow petals, a small yellow cup turning orange at the edge, and last for weeks in the early part of the daffodil season. You can even have several flowers per bulb.
