Crocus angustifolius - Cloth of Gold

SKU: 2.070

SOLD OUT FOR AUTUMN 2017
In February this crocus, from the hillsides of West Anatolia, opens its petals, feathered with bronze outside, to reveal rich gold. It gained the epithet after long residence in British gardens although perhaps arriving somewhat after Henry VIII and Francis I’s field meeting in 1520.
